Naval Academy Athletics has partnered with gotügo for the 2013 Navy women’s lacrosse season! We wish the women’s team all the best, and support them in making the 2013 season a great one.
The women are preparing for the start of the season, which open with the Blue & White Scrimmage against the Davidson Wildcats at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD. The game will take place on Saturday, January 24, the time is scheduled to be announced at a later date.
Last season, the Navy women’s lacrosse team went on to win the Patriot League Championship, beating Holy Cross for the title. The women also made it to the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship, suffering a defeat to Duke University in the second round.
A bit about the Navy women’s lacrosse Midshipmen:
For the Navy women’s lacrosse team, there is no such thing as an off-season. Conditioning programs take place all year, and training, or preparing for “combat,” as Navy would have it, occupies most of the “free” time that other students enjoy. The team boasts many accolades, and many of the individual players have earned awards as well. In their most recent season, the Navy team was ranked in the top 15 in both of the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association year-end polls. Navy is ranked No. 15 in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll and No. 12 in the final deBeer Media Poll. Navy made its program debut in the IWLCA Coaches Poll in 2013 when the team appeared at No. 20 on March 12 and remained in the top 20 for the rest of the season. Navy earned a season-best ranking of No. 13 in the coaches poll on April 8 of that year.
