Much of the East Coast has already started to feel the effects of hurricane Sandy but for those of you that are still bracing (or haven’t planned ahead) here are a few tips to help get you prepared. Stock up on foods that require no electricity to cook, such as crackers, fruits, healthy snacks (granola bars, trail mix) and comfort foods to get you through snack times,...

To Use or Not to Use: The Porta Potty Debate

While most people probably prefer to use their own bathroom when nature calls, sometimes it just isn’t possible, and “holding it in” can be harmful (or even fatal – think back to 2009 when a Sacramento radio station (KDND-FM) contestant passed away due to water intoxication from an on-air water-drinking contest). It’s important to take care of your bodily needs as necessary. Many people, however, are hesitant to use portable restrooms (aka porta potties), due to cleanliness concerns. We speak from experience when we say that portable restrooms can be just as clean and nice to use as a regular bathroom!...

Planning Ahead for Natural Disasters

In honor of September's National Preparedness Month, let these simple steps serve as a guide for how to put your own emergency plan into place. •    Make your plan together. Think of scenarios that could happen and plan how you would manage your...

We recently found this lovely Gotügo photo collage by Karen Mallonee on her Flickr photostream.  We love the angles she used, and she proves that even portapotties...
