Gotügo was proud to have donated its time and services to the 4th Annual 2009 “Walk for the Woods” event held on Saturday, April 18, 2009. In the efforts to preserve the South River Greenway, local residents of Crownsville, MD were able to explore a piece of wilderness right in the heart of Anne Arundel County. Not yet open to the public, the South River Greenway is a protected piece of land soon to become one of Anne Arundel County’s largest parks containing upland streams, lily filled ponds, spring wild flowers and over 57 species of birds. Hikes range from 1 to 4 miles on marked trials. This is one of many fundraising events gotügo has contributed to in the year 2009.

There will be live music, featuring the band Worx, a bike show to show off your own bike for cash prizes as well as a bike rodeo and motorcycle and automotive displays. Proceeds from the event will benefit the 10,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state that train and compete in SOMD. Gotügo was proud to donate its time and services to the American Cancer Society to aid in their fight against cancer. The “Relay for Life” events took place all around Anne Arundel County, Maryland throughout the months of May and June 2008. Gotügo contributed their Two-way Sinks and Handicap Units along with their “signature green” Standard Portable Restroom Units to various “Relay for Life” events all around Anne Arundel County. “Relay” is an overnight event to stress the fact that cancer never sleeps so for one night neither did the participants! The Relay For Life of West Anne Arundel County event had over 425 participants and raised close to $60,000. The 2008 Relay For Life of Southern Anne Arundel County event raised more than $165,000 with over 650 participants! This is one of many cancer fundraising events that gotügo has participated in the year 2008.

The event took place on January 23rd and 24th to help raise money for the Special Olympics Maryland, the state’s largest year round organization dedicated to helping over 10,000 child and adults with intellectual disabilities. For a minimum of $50 in pledges, Plungers were able to participate in the ice cold dip into the Chesapeake Bay. To date, the event has raised close to $360,000 in donations!
